Comox Valley RCMP conduct successful search in Courtenay
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Emergency Response Team (ERT) collaborated with Comox Valley RCMP in executing a search warrant on Saturday morning, addressing a potential firearms-related situation in Courtenay.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., a notable police presence was observed on the 2300-block of Urquhart Avenue, where a coordinated effort involving members of the ERT, Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit, Special Victims Unit, and frontline responders gathered to enter a residence and conduct a search for evidence pertaining to alleged criminal offences.
Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer for Comox Valley RCMP, emphasized, "When firearms are potentially involved, our approach is marked by the highest caution during entry and search operations. Fortunately, this operation was conducted successfully with minimal disruption and, importantly, no injuries."
